Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences – EDU Bldg 2, Level 2

This project involved renovations to the Eating Disorder Unit on Level 2 of Building 2 at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences. It included a full demolition of the existing areas to make way for approximately 10,000sf of redesigned spaces. The newly created spaces included patient rooms, waiting area, treatment room, medications room, soiled room, washrooms, laundry room, kitchen/dining areas, activities room, offices and administrative/team areas.

The scope of work consisted new and upgraded communications and IT systems, electrical and security systems. CSA Standard Z317.13-12 Infection Control During Construction, Renovation and Maintenance of Health Care Facilities was implemented as a precautionary and remedial measure for preventing exposure to agents released or augmented because of actions undertaken. This project was completed was carried out while this high security hospital was fully operational.
