Description

MJ Dixon has been awarded the renovation of University of Guelph’s Building 046. This facility was originally constructed in 1963 and will be renovated to relocate and accommodate the Couples & Family Therapy and Clinical Psychology Services (the Centre) – College of Social and Applied Human Sciences (CSAHS).

The new Center is designed to create a unique and innovative research and clinical training facility for mental health professionals specializing in children, youth, and couple and family psychotherapy and psychology assessment. It will have a welcoming and non-institutional feel, including brightly lit entrance, hallways and client rooms that have soft lighting from lamps and or natural sources.

The programming for this project includes upgrades to the infrastructure systems for the east wing and complete replacement of the roof for the east, west and south wings. New security, communications and audio visual will be a part of the scope of work. Additionally, enhanced level of barrier-free accessibility will be built-in to the facility in part to allow for increased training opportunities reflecting the current trends in practice and research.
